Senior Ashlynn Schiro capped off an extraordinary track & field career by winning the 300 meter hurdles at Saturday’s MHSAA State Finals held at Rockford High School. In addition to the state title, Schiro’s time of 43.09 was good enough for a personal-best, school record and one of the Top 10 performances in state meet history. Schiro also placed 5th in the 100 meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.51 for All-State honors.
Also receiving All-State honors at the meet was the 4x800m relay team of Andrew Armada, Daniel Bartowski, David Kroth, and Kael Fineout. The quartet combined their efforts for a second-place finish and school record time of 7:45.16 — breaking the old mark by 13 seconds.
